Project Overview
This project involved the detailed engineering design for the new "Hilton Hyatt Node" residential facilities at Codelco Andina. A key engineering challenge was the excavation of slopes along three sides of the site, requiring the design of a permanent earth retention system. To meet these requirements, two complementary retaining systems were developed: Soil Nailing Wall: Utilizing passive soil nails as reinforcement elements to provide effective long-term slope stabilization. Anchored Retaining Wall: Incorporating post-tensioned ground anchors to provide additional structural support and ensure long-term stability. Pangea played a key role in the project by delivering the detailed geotechnical engineering design. Throughout the construction phase, our team also provided continuous technical support through site supervision, engineering consulting, and regular field inspections, ensuring the successful implementation of the design and the long-term performance of the retaining structures.
